Community Women’s Health Project

Started on: 8th December 2018

This initiative focuses on empowering women in remote and tribal areas through targeted health education, screening, and support programs. It addresses key challenges like maternal health, menstrual hygiene, anemia, and cancer prevention, serving underserved communities around Swami Vivekanand Charitable Hospital, Dharmawala and beyond.

  • “मेरी पहचान (खुद को जाने, खुद को पहचाने)” – Menstrual Hygiene and My Pad Program
  • “कैंसर से दो कदम आगे – चिकित्सा से सावधानी भली” – Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness and Screening Program

“बनूँ में स्वस्थ जीवनदाता” – Pregnant Lady Care

Program Started: 8th December 2018

  • Number of pregnant ladies enrolled: 195
  • Follow-up visits: Once every 10 days (for pregnant ladies and lactating mothers)
  • Number of Ante Natal Care (ANC) sessions conducted: 64

ANC sessions include:

  • Pre-test (interactive session)
  • Video sessions on ANC and Anaemia
  • ANC education through snake and ladder game
  • Importance of Iron-rich food, adequate water intake, and lifestyle modifications
  • Weight check-up
  • Post-test
  • Filling up of Health Check-Up card

Support Provided: Total 3,854 IFA tablets and 1,408 Ca tablets distributed free of cost to pregnant ladies and anaemic adolescent girls by SVCH, Dharmawala.

“मेरी पहचान (खुद को जाने, खुद को पहचाने)” – Menstrual Hygiene and My Pad Program

Program Started: 8th December 2018

  • Adolescent girls enrolled in “My Pad” program: 1,014
  • 70% of adolescent girls found ignorant of menstrual hygiene awareness (via questionnaire)
  • Total sanitary pads distributed: 1,590
  • Menstrual Hygiene sessions conducted: 86
  • Adolescent girls started regularly using pads after sessions: 812

  • Menstrual Hygiene and use of sanitary pads
  • Iron-rich food and Anemia
  • Balanced and Nutritional diet
  • Food pyramid
  • Healthy routine, Yoga, exercise, and adequate water intake

“कैंसर से दो कदम आगे – चिकित्सा से सावधानी भली” – Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness and Screening

Period: 30th March 2019 – 31st January 2020

  • Screening Camps conducted: 9
  • Awareness sessions conducted: 12
  • Beneficiaries covered: 874
  • Tribal Villages Covered: 9
  • Pap smear examinations done: 824
  • Colposcopy Guided Cervical Biopsy done: 23
  • Breast Scans done: 51
  • Breast Light Examination done: 431
  • Mammography done: 81

Community Health Volunteers

Program Started: 15th May 2019

10 Community Health Volunteers working across 8 tribal villages.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Village Household Survey
  • Conducting yoga sessions in schools and villages
  • Weekly Health Education Sessions for pregnant ladies and adolescent girls
  • Daily random house visits to monitor health status
  • Hospital referral trips with consistent patient follow-up
